This device can be used from the age of 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s a quick look at the key improvements brought by this new generation of CGM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What\u2019s new?<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong> Automatic data transmission<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>No more manual scanning! The sensor now sends glucose readings directly to the mobile or the reader app every minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Smaller and more discreet sensor<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor is 60% smaller than the Libre 2. Its size is comparable to two stacked nickels, making it more comfortable to wear and reducing plastic waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Real-time alerts<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like with the Libre 2, users can receive real-time alerts for high, low, or rapidly changing glucose levels, based on personalized thresholds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>15-day wear with no calibration<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The sensor is factory-calibrated, meaning no fingerstick is required to ensure accuracy. It is designed for continuous wear over a 15-day period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What about cost and coverage?<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus is now available in Canada, it is not yet covered by most public insurance plans (such as Ontario Health Insurance Plan, or British Columbia\u2019s PharmaCare).
